    Aisin Hosts MIT Alumni Club

Professor Russell Tedrake, a leading figure in the field of robotics and X-Consortium Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was the guest speaker at an evening organized by the MIT Alumni Association and the MIT Alumni Club of Southeast Michigan, and hosted by AWA and ATC-A.

In attendance were several MIT alumni, ATC-A associates and members of the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Lego team, Snake Eyes. Many inquired about Aisin learned about the company, its product line and expansion in North America. This was a win-win evening for both Aisin and the MIT Alumni Club.

Professor Tedrake gave an engaging presentation of his work and led a discussion on the future of robotics and controls, which went on past the scheduled time as everyone in attendance, including the teenagers from the Snake Eyes team, were eager to ask questions and keep the discussion going.

    AWA Wins Major Sunroof Programs

Aisin World Corp. of America recently won two of the largest sunroof programs in North American for the Toyota Corolla and GM full size truck and SUV.

The two programs combined will contribute to the production of more than 300,000 sunroofs per year, according to Al Bernat and Parag Surati, managers, OE Sales.

Both programs will use a tilt inner slide sunroof design of different sizes, and will use Aisin’s patented belt drive. The additional Corolla volume will allow Aisin to expand its sunroof business to ACI in Stratford, Ontario, Canada.

Both programs were very important wins for Aisin, enabling the company to continue growing in the sunroof business, and staying on track to achieving Vision 2015.
